Weekly Menu, June 26

I am exhausted! I am trying to get my on-line scrapbooking caught up so I've done a couple late-nights in a row and now I'm living on coffee and the energy of two kiddos. I'm hoping I can get the current book done tonight. Then I can start on the next one, phew.
I also got to do a sewing project this week. I'm hoping to post about it this week, but I have a friend that's due to have her first little girl in a couple weeks. I wanted to make some cloth diaper burp cloths and receiving blankets for her. Mission accomplished!
So, then it's on to my cooking. We actually did a good job staying on track with meals; I only slipped up one day. I didn't have dinner ready and had to improvise. I think the menu planning is helping me to work on the fly when necessary, even though the point of it is to keep from having to plan that way. It's just not as stressful as it used to be to figure out what to do.

For this week, we are sticking to the basics for the most part. We have a busy week with afternoon swim practice 3 of the 4 days so I have to prepare beforehand and then leave it for hubby to finish. That's been our system lately and it has worked really well. Hope your meal planing is going well, too! Have a great week!

Weekly Menu, June 19

Man, I am just not getting anything done, except having an absolute blast with the kiddos! We have been going to science and STEM events all over town, visiting various pools, movies, and of course getting our music bone grooving as well. I have been keeping up in the kitchen also, but we have found it's absolutely imperative I get these menu's done every week or else I have a hard time getting something on the table. I'm just having too much fun. Ha!

I thought it would be easier to have the swim meet in the morning, but it's an adjustment. Instead of having dinner on the go, we had breakfast on the go which the kids aren't used to. We'll figure this out; if I don't there's only a couple meets left anyway.

So, another straight-forward week. I really want to find some new/more breakfast recipes that are fast and yummy. I need to get on that. Meanwhile, here's what we have going on.

The pizza sounds super good; it's been a couple weeks since we've had it. I am also looking forward to the quesadillas; I'm going to try grilling the chicken and chopping it up for the quesadillas. Sounds yummy just thinking about it. Hope it inspires you! Have a great week!

Weekly Menu, June 12

Oops! I'm a day late! Yikes! The weekend just got away from me, and when hubby offered to watch the kiddos a couple hours so I could grocery shop in peace, well I couldn't pass that up. We did a much better job sticking to the menu last week and everything went well. This week we are going to try a couple new things, but still trying to stick close to classics so we don't veer off track.

I haven't been able to find a BBQ sauce I'm crazy about so I'm hoping I can dig something up for this evening. I would love to have a homemade sauce that's sweet and tangy with a little kick (but not too much or the kiddos won't eat it).  Over the years I haven't found a bottle sauce I'm thrilled with; we don't really live in a "BBQ" part of the country.

My son's swim meet this week will be in the morning (YEAH!!) so it means breakfast and lunch on-the-go with dinner at home. Looking forward to that! It feels like those meals are easier to do on-the-go. We'll see, though. Have a great week!
