About

Hi, my name is Megan. I have been quilting since 2005.  I had just moved back to my home town of Tucson and my Mom had been involved in a local BOM for a while so I decided to join her.  I fell in love with quilting, and discovered it was very similar to the other crafts I love; scrapbooking and card making.  I love the patterns, the designs, the variety and flexibility. Since then, I have made all sorts of quilts, from table runners to king size quilts. I am trying to get pictures of all of them on here so I can keep track of everything I have done, but I know there are some out there that I will never get pictured.

On a personal note, I have been married to my high school sweet heart now for 11 years; we've actually been together for 20 years.  I am a middle/high school science teacher by trade. I taught for 11 years before I decided to stay home with my son, who was almost 2 years old at that time.

Soon after making that decision, we discovered #2 was on the way; perfect timing. That never happens, right? Well, it was soon discovered how important it was for me to be home. Our daughter didn't pass the hearing screenings and we discovered that she was profoundly deaf. We immediately began learning ASL, and she has already started signing.  We also made the decision for her to receive cochlear implants. We are now in speech therapy at least once a week and she is flourishing! I am so impressed with what science can do, and with her determination.

I am so lucky to get to stay home with my children, and that is my main focus right now. However, I needed another outlet, and decided to start this blog as a way to organize and keep track of my recipes, cards, and quilts.  Quilts so far have been my main focus, and maybe that will change (or not).  We'll just see where this blog goes.

I've also started an Etsy Shop where I have mostly fabric items for adults and children, including fabric toys, bags, and quilts. I hope to be able to start selling patterns, but haven't been able to get to that yet. Thanks so much for visiting. I hope you get some ideas, inspiration, and come back again!
