Weekly Post, Jan 2

Happy New Year! We had a wonderful, chilly, wet New Years Day. Totally awesome! We got to bundle up and watch some movies. Play in mud and then drink warm cocoa. I got all of the Christmas decoration put away, which is always a super bummer for me. My daughter kept asking why I was putting everything away. I’m pretty sure she would like to keep Christmas going all year. She already thinks the whole month of January is her birthday. I like it! Good to dream big!

I had a hard time sticking to the schedule last week because I came down with a nasty little bug the day after Christmas. Fortunately hubby was able to pick up where I left off. It meant that our Sunday night meal was bumped to tomorrow. No problem. At least I already know I have what I need to make it.

I feel like it’s time for a healthier track too. I’ve never been a huge ‘New Years Resolution’ kind of gal, but… I also feel like illness, crazy holidays, and too many yummy things to eat has made it necessary to require this time be a time of health. I got a spiralizer kitchenaid attachment (didn’t even know they existed; my hubby is AMAZING) and I am going to town with it. I also got a smaller crockpot that I think will help with my need to make smaller meal sizes that won’t burn in the bigger pot. Here’s hoping it works!
