Weekly Menu, Oct 31

As I predicted, last weeks plan was thrown out the window, but not for the reason I thought. I ended up going down with the rest of them. I haven’t felt like making anything, especially a full dinner. Fortunately, my husband was willing to pick things up and eat leftovers from the week before to get thru. The kids were happy with mac n cheese, and I could rest and feel better.

By the end of the week I was feeling better, but we had lots of Halloween plans and friends visiting which meant the plan had to be flexible. I saw that coming, and now I know this week will be similar. I am putting a plan together though so if need be, I’m ready.

We have had a change-of-schedule on Wednesdays…my son has advanced to a yellow belt in his karate program. Yeah! It means that instead of having dinner ready when we walk in the door from practice, I now need to have dinner ready and eaten before we LEAVE for practice. There might be some adjustment in finding quick meals that won’t sit in his tummy during practice, and possibly a bedtime snack in the evening. Never imagined doing that, but I’m ready. Let’s make it happen! Have a yummy week!

Weekly Menu, Oct 24

I’m not sure what’s happening this fall, but I am not getting my act together. We have been crazy busy with various activities and events; it feels like we are always off to something. I really need to get used to that as the kids get older.

This week I am singing the praise of probiotics! Everyone in my house went down with a nasty bug last week; everyone except me! YEAH! I did feel a little more tired than usual, but that could be from keeping up with all the sickos. I am glad everyone is feeling better now.  A friend is coming to town next week and I’m hoping to learn the trade of kombucha brewing. Hopefully I can get some recipes I really like; it would save a lot of money for sure.

Last weeks menu went well. Only a couple hiccups because of the sickos desire to eat only soup and mac n cheese. All good. We are back at it this week, and hopefully the straight-forward menu will be easy to stick to.
